“I’m writing to thank you for the first three issues of The Gilded Weathervane, which I have been enjoying immensely. It is a marvellous journal for quiet evening browsing.
There is much to enjoy in each issue. I appreciate the breadth of poetry on offer, as well as the generous selection of nonfiction pieces. Particular favourites of mine are “Suite of Spring Sounds” (Ruth Zwald; Spring 2025) and “The 1960 Ford Beater” (Thom Schilling; Fall 2025), both of which took me back to my youth, albeit for very different reasons. Your art choices are uniformly excellent too and, again, I love the diversity of styles. I am especially fond of the photographs by Brooks Crudup and Morgan Barnhart, and of the wildlife drawings by Kathy Tollenaere, whose inclusion of a boxelder bug in her sketch of the Eastern Towhee was a delightful choice, worthy of E.H. Shepard.
I am very glad to have found your journal, and I look forward to future issues. May you enjoy a long and successful run!”
